Former Warren cop pleads guilty to misdemeanor charges


WARREN — Reuben Shaw, a former Warren police officer fired in May on allegations of car theft, pleaded guilty today to reduced misdemeanor charges this morning in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court.

Shaw, 48, was indicted on three felonies, including theft in office, grand theft and breaking and entering. He will be sentenced later.

The specific misdemeanor charges to which he pleaded guilty were not immediately available.

He was accused of stealing a 1969 Chevrolet Nova from a garage at a home on Kenwood Drive Southeast in June 2013 and having it towed to a garage he controlled.
