Boardman police arrest man for drug charges

BOARDMAN — Police arrested Brian McGuire, 47, of Boardman at 7:24 p.m. Saturday on charges of drug and paraphernalia possession, OVI and no license plates on his PT Cruiser.

Police saw McGuire drive into the grass on South Avenue close to Trinity Fellowship Church Saturday and stopped to talk to him. Police smelled marijuana coming from McGuire's car and saw a bag with 21.9 grams of marijuana in it.

Police arrested McGuire who had been driving under the influence. Police reported McGuire has had four other OVI convictions and a criminal history.
