Mount Union 62, Muskingum 6

All-American senior quarterback Kevin Burke completed 17-of-21 passes for 272 yards and four touchdowns in the first half as the Purple Raiders (2-0, 1-0 Ohio Athletic Conference) scored on all seven of its first-half possessions to run out to a 42-0 lead. Burke hit seven different receivers with four of them each catching one touchdown pass. He had a 56-yarder to junior Roman Namdar, 11 yards to Taurice Scott, 20 yards to sophomore Zach Herrington and 26 yards to senior Luc Meacham. Sophomore running back Bradley Mitchell had nine rushes for 73 yards and had a 14 yard rushing touchdown while junior Brandon Williams had five carries for 70 yards including a 48-yard touchdown run.The Mount Union defense got a pair of interceptions on Muskingum’s first two drives — one from junior Will Hiteshue and one from junior Hank Spencer, a pair of sacks and held the Muskies’ to 94 total yards in the first half.

Ohio Northern 37, Baldwin Wallace 35

BEREA

Ohio Northern University senior quarterback Patrick Angle threw a 10-yard touchdown pass to junior wide receiver Devon Price with nine seconds remaining as the Polar Bears opened the OAC schedule with a win in the 37th Annual Lee Tressel Shrine Classic on Tressel Field at The George Finnie Stadium. Angle completed 27 of 46 passes for 269 yards with four touchdowns and he ran for a game-high 115 yards in 16 attempts with a TD. Price caught a game-high 10 passes for 123 yards and two TDs and senior WR Shaile Chamberlain caught seven for 53 yards and a TD. The Polar Bear defense was paced by senior All-OAC MLB Dillon Kwiat with a game-high 10 stops. He earned the ONU Shrine Player of the Game award. The defense was led by senior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC outside linebacker Danny O’Brien ( Howland) and junior middle linebacker Tyler Burdorff with eight tackles each.

Thomas More 66, Thiel 27

GREENVILLE, PA.

The Saints scored 45 unanswered points for the win at Alumni Stadium in the first Presidents’ Athletic Conference game. Ron Howard scored the Tomcats’ first touchdown on a 17-yard pass from Ryan Radke. The Tomcats (1-2, 0-1) took a 14-7 when Radke hit Tim Walker with a scoring toss. Fullback Rich Smallwood also scored a 1-yard touchdown. Radke led the Tomcats with 92 yards on the ground on 16 carries with one touchdown run. Taylor Fink (Kittanning, Pa./Kittanning) also ran for 45 yards on 21 carries. Radke completed 18-of-35 passes for 192 yards.

Allegheny 24, Hiram 21

HIRAM

Freshman running back Danny Robinson paced Hiram (2-1, 1-1 North Coast Athletic Conference) with 95 yards rushing on 13 carries and junior Jaylen Dinard finished with six receptions for 89 yards. Robert Partridge completed 19-of-33 passes for 250 yards and a touchdown.
