Local school kids to attend Browns game

Eight students and staff members from Williamson Elementary School will be at Sunday’s Cleveland Browns game at the FirstEnergy Stadium thanks to donated tickets from defensive lineman Ishmaa’ily Kitchen.

The students and staff will travel to the game in a limousine donated by New Wave Limousine Service.

“Students had to turn in all school forms on time and demonstrate positive behavior,” said school principal Renee Foerster.

The lucky winners are Anthony Jackson (grade 6), Tyrell Myers (grade 6), Trinittee Hendrix (grade 4) and Nataysia Sunderman (grade 4).

Giant LeBron banner to hang in Cleveland

CLEVELAND

A larger-than-life LeBron James will again tower over downtown.

The city’s planning commission approved artwork on Friday for a new 10-story-high banner of the NBA superstar, his arms outstretched and “Cleveland” across the back of his jersey. It will hang across the street from Quicken Loans Arena, home of the Cavaliers.

The Nike-sponsored banner is similar to the black-and-white “Witness” that adorned an outside wall of Sherwin-Williams Co.’s headquarters for years. It was removed after James left for the Miami Heat in 2010. The new banner is expected to be installed before the Cavs’ home opener on Oct. 30 against New York.
