Weller to appear at Sharon Speedway today

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C.

In an effort to raise awareness for childhood cancer, NASCAR driver Jimmy Weller will partner with Joedance Film Festival for two key events over the next few weeks.

Joedance Film Festival, a Charlotte, N.C.-based non-profit organization focused on raising awareness for rare pediatric cancers, will be the focal point of the fundraiser organized by Weller at Sharon Speedway today.

The duo will also join forces for the NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Oct. 10.

“I’m really excited to partner with Joedance Film Festival for a few more events this year,” Weller said. “I’ve had a lot of fun getting to know the Restaino family over the last few months, and after attending the festival this past August, I’m really excited to find other ways to support their cause.

“The story of their son and his fight against Osteosarcoma was so touching, so it means a lot to me to have the opportunity to support them and their fight against rare pediatric cancers.”

With Childhood Cancer Awareness Month taking place this month, Weller will host ‘Joedance Film Festival Night’ at Sharon Motor Speedway today. The evening will look to shed light on childhood cancers, while raising awareness and financial support.

The night will feature a driver foot race, several ‘pick a prize’ raffles, a gold ribbon sale and a donation collection. All funds raised will benefit Joedance Film Festival.

On Friday, Oct. 10, Weller will compete in a Chevrolet Camaro for SS Green Light Racing at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Racing in his second NASCAR Nationwide Series race this season, Weller’s Camaro will feature the Joedance Film Festival logo on the lower rear quarter panels.
