West Nile virus causes death of Mahoning County resident

Mahoning County’s first human case of West Nile Virus (WNV) caused the death of a 66-year-old Mahoning County resident on Thursday after being hospitalized for encephalitis.

The death was reported today by the Ohio Department of Health and the Mahoning County District Board of Health. The report did not say where the resident lived or whether the victim was a male or female.
