A summary of police activity in the city of Canfield and Austintown:
CANFIELD
Sept. 4
Arrest: A theft of a credit card from an auto was reported Aug. 29, in the 100 block of Callahan Road, and police later arrested Jason Sobnosky, 31, of Columbiana Road, New Middletown, on charges of receiving stolen property, identity fraud and misuse of credit card.
Theft: Theft from an auto was reported at a home in the 300 block of Neff Drive. Police arrested Sobnosky and charged him with two counts of receiving stolen property, identity fraud, attempt to commit identity theft, fraud, and misuse of credit card.
Sept. 8
Warrant: Police arrested Donald Huff, 51, of Sherwood Avenue, Youngstown, on a warrant for failure to appear in a Mahoning County Area Court.
Sept. 10
Drug possession: Police arrested Angela Village, 39, of Wellington Avenue, Youngstown, on a charge of possession of drugs.
Warrant: Police arrested Jabrelle Fant, 20, of Larchmont Avenue, Warren, on a warrant for failure to appear in court on charges of misuse of 911 emergency system and obstructing official business.
Sept. 12
Child endangering: Police arrested Bradie Frost, 31, of Brookpark Drive on a charge of child endangering after a 1- to 2-year-old child was seen wandering unattended in the city.
Arrest: Police arrested Matthew Balog, 30, of North Broad Street, on charges of disorderly conduct and menacing.
Sept. 13
Drugs: Police arrested Penny Collins, 41, of W. Pidgeon Road, Salem, on charges of drug possession and drug paraphernalia.
Sept. 14
Drug abuse: Police arrested Kristin Ratkowski, 26, of Yorktown Lane, Austintown, on charges of drug abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia.
AUSTINTOWN
Sept. 8
Drug offense: Police issued a summons to Britney Hall, 21, of Salt Springs Road, Warren, on charges of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Theft: Police issued a summons to Amanda Seman, 26, of Bancroft Avenue, Youngstown, on a charge of theft from Rainbow Shops, 6000 Mahoning Ave.
Identity theft: A male victim reported identity theft. He lives in the 5000 block of Boulder Creek Avenue.
Theft: Police arrested Misty Arehart, 22, of 258 Gaither Avenue, Youngstown, on charges of theft and possession of criminal tools. Police accused her of taking $92.98 in merchandise from Kmart, 4475 Mahoning Ave.
Theft: Unauthorized charges were reported on a Home Savings and Loan bank card at a home in the 3000 block of Claridge Drive.
Recovered property: A folding knife was found at the Austintown Library, 600 S. Raccoon Road.
Burglary: A laptop was taken from an apartment in the 4000 block of Westchester Drive.
Theft: Medications were taken at a home in the 4000 block of Washington Square.
Sept. 9
Telecommunications harassment: Harassment was reported at a home in the 3000 block of Ayrshire Drive.
Theft: Police arrested Christina Brayman, 41, no address given, on charges of theft and for two warrants from Youngstown Municipal Court. Police accused her for taking $111.84 in merchandise from Walmart, 6001 Mahoning Ave.
Passing bad checks: Two bad checks were passed at Coney Island, 31 N. Canfield-Niles Road.
Warrant: Police arrested Charles Strobeck, 54, of Branchville, N.J., on two warrants out of Frantzford Joint Municipal Court in New Jersey for two counts of aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault by contact with a child less than 13 and endangering the welfare of a child.
Recovered property: A wallet was recovered in the 4000 block of Kirk Road.
Sept. 10
Theft: Four GPS devices were taken from vehicles at Drywall Barn, 408 N. Meridian Road.
Theft: Police issued a summons to Keith Allen, 38, of West Chalmers Avenue, Youngstown, on charges of theft and possessing criminal tools. Police accused him with taking $597.77 worth of merchandise from Kmart.
Theft: An elderly homeowner reported to police that a “younger” friend stole money and credit cards from the home in the 60 block of Idaho Road.
Sept. 11
Vehicle theft: A blue Dodge Caravan was stolen from a home in the 4000 block of Deer Creek Court.
Theft: A total of $100 was reported stolen from a home in the 4000 block of Woodhurst Drive.
Warrant: Police arrested Johnathan Dill, 19, no address, on a warrant for failure to appear in court on a criminal-trespassing charge.
Breaking and entering: Copper was reported stolen from a home in the 200 block of DeForest Hill Drive.
Breaking and entering: Copper was reported stolen from a home in the 100 block of South Main Street.
Sept. 12
Burglary: Money and a pendant were reported missing from a home in the 4000 block of Westmont Drive.
Theft: A catalytic converter was stolen from Auto Giant, 4120 Mahoning Ave.
Theft: A Pennsylvania license plate was stolen from a vehicle parked at Giant Eagle, 5220 Mahoning Ave.
Burglary: Video games and jewelry were stolen from a home in the 4000 block of Westchester Drive.
Theft: A male fled the business after a theft at Rulli Bros., 4331 Kirk Road.
Criminal trespass: Police arrested Kaleb Probst, 23, no address, on a charge of criminal trespassing at a home in the 100 block of Idlewood Road.
Theft: Polcie arrested Amanda Werner, 33, of Cherry Hill Avenue, Youngstown, on charges of theft and possession of dangerous drugs. Police said the she filled up a cart at Kmart, went to the front of the store, got some shopping bags, then went back into the toy department and bagged up the items and left the store without paying for them. Police said she had $610.94 in merchandise. She also had a prescription bottle with pills that belonged to someone else.
Breaking and entering: Damage was done to a home during a break-in in the 4000 block of Washington Square Drive.
Theft: A wallet was stolen from a home in the 100 block of Georgetown Place.
Aggravated menacing: Threatening text messages were reported at an apartment in the 1000 block of Compass West.
Sept. 13
Theft: A purse was tolen from an unlocked car in the 60 block of Westminster Drive.
Theft: An Ohio license plate was stolen from an auto parked in the 200 block of North Raccoon Road.
Theft: Police arrested Kimberly Spade, 49, and Heidi Major, 35, both of Compass West. Police charged Spade with theft, and Major with complicity to theft. Police said they were involved in the theft of $190.17 of merchandise from Walmart.
Drug offense: Police issued a summons to Ryan Okernick, 22, of North Raccoon Road, on charges of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Warrant: Police arrested Anthony Harrison, 24, of Compass West, on a warrant for failure to comply and obstructing official business.
Sept. 14
Theft: Police issued a summons to Robert Kennedy, 53, of Robbins Avenue, Niles, on a theft charge. Police accused him of taking about $40 in food over a period of time and eating it while on the job at Walmart and not paying for it.
Disorderly conduct: Police arrested Keith Spitnale, 35, of Ohltown Road, on a disorderly conduct charge at the Regency House, 3704 Mahoning Ave.
Aggravated menacing: A male was threatened by another male at a home in the 2000 block of Birch Trace.
Theft: Three purses were taken from three separate vehicles parked at Austintown Township Park, 6000 Kirk Road.
