Boys take 11th at Tomahawk Run

Senior Nick Long took 34th overall out of 447 runners Sept. 6 at The Walsh Jesuit Tomahawk Run in Cuyahoga Falls. The Spartans finished 11th overall out of 17 Division I teams, the varsity record stands at 25-27 for the season.

“This was not our finest effort,” said Boardman head coach John Phillips. “This meet is a district/regional type of meet and to not run well is a bit disappointing.”

Setting new personal bests at Walsh Jesuit were sophomore Chris Butler at 20:42, sophomore Jonathan Tran at 21:47 and freshman Luke Hetzel at 21:46. Also setting a new career best was freshman Nick Peters at 24:31, that effort earned Peters this weeks BW-3 ‘Runner of the Week’ award.
