LORDSTOWN

Nathan C. Bundy, 39, of Danville, Va., was arraigned early this week in Newton Falls Municipal Court on four charges related to thefts Aug. 31 at Lordstown Village Car Wash, 6830 Tod Ave. SW.

He is charged with misdemeanor theft and felony tampering with a coin-operated machine, possession of criminal tools and vandalism. Bond was set at $25,000.

Police said Bundy and a female tampered with the bill changer at the car wash at 7:47 p.m., reportedly taking more than $500 in quarters. They were in a white minivan.

The Lordstown Police Department worked with the Middle Atlantic Great Lakes Organized Crime Law Enforcement Network and Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation and identified the suspect as Bundy, according to a press release.

Lordstown police obtained arrest warrants for Bundy through Newton Falls Municipal Court and learned that Bundy also was wanted by police departments in Pennsylvania, Arkansas, North Carolina and Georgia for similar offenses.

The department learned last Friday that car washes in the Hermitage, Pa., area had been robbed and that Bundy probably was in the area.

Bundy was spotted on Tod Avenue later that day near the Lordstown Village Car Wash and was taken into custody. A female who was with him was later released after questioning.
