SHALE INSIGHT conference set in Pittsburgh next week

In its fourth year, the SHALE INSIGHT 2014 conference will be at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center on Sept. 24 -25, with pre-conference programming – including a technology showcase – beginning Sept. 23.

Increased railroad deliveries in 2013

According to the Association of American Railroads, railroads delivered 434,042 carloads of crude oil in 2013, an 83 percent increase over 2012. The increase results from the oil reserves in Utica, the Bakken and Eagle Ford shale deposits.

Supreme Court decision due soon

The decision of the Ohio Supreme Court on the home-rule rights, if any, of the city of Munroe Falls with Beck Energy is due soon. That case will determine whether local governments can exercise control over drilling under the state Constitution’s home-rule provision.

Production facility to be built in Salem Twp. SALEM

Appalachian Resins Inc. plans to lease approximately 50 acres in Salem Township to build an integrated 600-million-pounds per year ethylene/polyethylene production facility.
