A woman arrested at a Mahoning Avenue store late Sunday gave police several false identifications and also had a knife on her, reports said.

Officers were called to the 1821 Mahoning Ave. store about 10:05 p.m. after an off-duty officer spotted a car there that was reported stolen earlier in the evening from a Market Street gas station.

Officers detained the woman driving the car, Lisha Marie Roberts, 47, of Ferndale Avenue.

Reports said officers asked Roberts several times if she had anything illegal on her and she said no, but when they searched her, she had a bag of suspected marijuana and two credit cards that belonged to the person who owned the car, reports said.

Before officers could get her hands cuffed, Roberts suddenly put something in her mouth and was told several times to spit it out. When she did, it was a piece of tinfoil that had two chewed up pills inside, reports said.

Next, officers tried to get her name but she gave them three false Social Security numbers, reports said.

A more-thorough search was conducted by a female officer who found a knife on her, reports said.

Roberts was taken to the Mahoning County jail on charges of obstruction of official business, possession of marijuana, tampering with evidence, carrying a concealed weapon and begging for trying to get gas money at the store, reports said.

At the jail, corrections officers found out her real name and discovered she is wanted on warrants from municipal court for reckless operation and driving under suspension.

She had settled on giving police her sister’s name before her real name was known, reports said.
