Lottery commission OKs Hollywood Gaming's full operating license

AUSTINTOWN

Officials from the Ohio Lottery Commission approved Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Race Course’s full operating license for its video lottery terminals.

Connie Miller, director of operations for the lottery commission, said the license was granted at about 2 p.m. today, just a day before the racino is set to open to the public.

Lottery officials had said Monday night during a VIP event that they expected to approve the license this afternoon. The racino had been operating under a temporary license since June 11.

Hollywood Gaming opens to the public Wednesday at noon. Valley residents can press their luck on the 850 VLTs that dot the gaming floor or participate in simulcast betting in a second floor area. Live racing begins Nov. 24.
