The second annual Theodore Foltz-Tedesco Memorial Picnic and Car Cruise planned for noon to 7 p.m. Sept. 27 at Harding Park, 249 Roosevelt Drive, has been canceled. Proceeds from the event were to benefit the Team Teddy Foundation, which was set up to help protect children from abuse.

Rabies clinic

LISBON

A rabies prevention clinic, sponsored by the Columbiana County Health Department and the Lisbon Veterinary Clinic, is being offered from 1 to 3 p.m. Sept. 27 at the Columbiana County Career & Technical Center, 9364 state Route 45 South, Lisbon.

Vaccinations are $5 per dose for pets that are 3 months and older. Dogs must be on a leash, and cats must be confined or in a carrier. Rabies vaccination certificates will be issued for all pets vaccinated, said Wesley Vins, Columbiana County health commissioner.

Turner tribute

GIRARD

The Youngstown Warren Black Caucus sixth annual dinner will be a tribute to state Sen. Nina Turner, D-25th, and Democratic Party candidate for Ohio secretary of state. The event will take place Friday at Mahoning Country Club, 710 E. Liberty Drive. A social hour is set for 6 to 7 p.m. with the dinner program following at 7. Tickets are $40 each. Scrap-tire collection

lIBERTY

There will be a scrap-tire collection drop-off for Liberty Township residents from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 27-28 at the administration building, 1315 Church Hill-Hubbard Road. Absolutely no material from commercial businesses will be accepted, township officials said. There will be a maximum of eight tires per resident, and only tires off the rims will be accepted.
