Lowelville police host session on phone scams Wednesday

LOWELLVILLE — Lowellville police plan to host a presentation on mail fraud and telephone scams at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in Lowellville city hall.

Terence Sullivan, a U.S. postal inspector from Cleveland, will share information on mail fraud and ways to detect it.

"Letters and phone calls coming from people pretending to be from the IRS seems to be a big problem," said Police Chief Ryan Bonacci. "We've seen a steady increase the last five months with mail fraud and telephone scams."

Police Chief Ryan Bonacci said the public is welcome to attend Wednesday's hour-long session.
