A man wearing a bandana over his face robbed Dollar General at 2981 McGuffey Road at 8:38 p.m. Friday, police reported.
The man, about 6 feet tall, 210 pounds and 25 years old, was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and gray jogging pants.
He tried at gunpoint to make the clerk open the safe, but the clerk told him he could not because the safe is on a timer.
The robber got away with $204 from the register and fled on foot, police said.
