Meeting set to air details of garbage contract in Hubbard

A public meeting to talk about an exclusive garbage contract between the city and Republic Services is set for 7 p.m. Wednesday.

John McGoran, manager of municipal services for Republic Services, will be there to go over all the details of the contract and to answer questions.

Service Director Dan Livingston is holding the meeting to give everyone the opportunity to ask questions on how the program will work, he said.

East High parents encouraged to attend meeting with leaders

East High School will host a “Meet & Greet” for parents and new administrators from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday in the school auditorium.

Light refreshments will be served.

“We are committed to ensuring that high expectations and academic excellence is the top priority for the 2014-15 school year at East,” said Superintendent Connie Hathorn. “To make this happen, we need parents to be more informed, involved and comfortable with communicating with the school’s administrators.”

Pickup changes set for Liberty recycling

Liberty Township officials and Republic/Allied Waste representatives invite the public to attend a meeting Oct. 20 at 7 p.m. at the township administration building, 1315 Church-Hill Hubbard Road.

Republic Services/Allied Waste will continue to provide Liberty residents curbside refuse and recycling collection; however, Republic Services has made changes in the collection of curbside recycling for township residents. Residents will receive a new 95-gallon recycling cart about Oct. 20.

On Oct. 27, residents will begin a new program with Republic Services. The collection of recycling will be every other week using the new bins. Refuse collection will continue weekly.
