YOUNGSTOWN — About 30 homes on Canfield Road were without water for about 12 hours after a 14-inch pipe burst, likely caused by the cold weather.
The pipe broke after midnight today on nearby Idora Avenue on the city’s South Side, causing flooding on that street and no water at some homes on Canfield Road.
Those living in those Canfield Road houses are under a boil-water alert until further notice, said Eugene Leson Jr., the water department’s chief engineer.
The water was restored to those homes shortly after noon today.
