NILES — John P. Kellar, 39, of various addresses in Warren and Niles, was arraigned Monday in Niles Municipal Court on a felony robbery charge in connection with a robbery about a month ago at the Sears store in the Eastwood Mall.
Niles police received help from their Facebook followers in identifying Kellar after the department posted a surveillance photo of the man committing the robbery. Police said the suspect also fought with Sears employees trying to detain him.
Kellar was charged Nov. 7, but he was not taken into custody until Monday when Weathersfield police arrested him.
No plea was entered, but John Gargano, acting judge, set bond at $5,000.
