Counselors and pastors at East High help grieve bus accident victim
YOUNGSTOWN
A team of counselors and pastors is on hand at East High School less than 24 hours after a freshman girl was run over and killed by a city school bus.
Communications director Yvonne Mathis said that the district’s crisis team, which consists of grief counselors and psychologists as well as pastors with several local churches, arrived at the school about 7:15 a.m., when it opened.
They are on hand to help students and staff deal with the death of 14-year-old Faith McCullough-Wooster, who was killed after she rolled down a hill on East Side Avenue and apparently fell into the path of a city school bus.
Police are still investigating the accident, which happened about 3 p.m. Wednesday.
