Jacqueline Metheny, 27, who listed addresses in Champion and Garrettsville, pleaded not guilty to driving under the influence of alcohol and or drugs and menacing Wednesday after purportedly threatening a law-enforcement officer Tuesday night.

Police were alerted to a vehicle traveling erratically north on Mahoning Avenue at 9:08 p.m. Tuesday. A deputy with the Trumbull County Sheriff’s Office stopped the vehicle in the parking lot of a Mahoning Avenue day-care business.

Metheny, the driver, used a lot of profanity as officers questioned her. She threatened to kill the deputy when she gets out of jail, police said.

Police later tested her blood-alcohol level at 0.216, which is more than double the legal limit of 0.08.

Metheny had gone to the day care to pick up her daughter, but another relative was contacted to take her daughter home.

Metheny was released from the Trumbull County Jail on Wednesday after posting $1,500 bond.
