Ohio village mayor charged with sexual imposition

HARVEYSBURG, Ohio (AP) — The mayor of a southwest Ohio village has been charged with sexual imposition involving a village employee.

The Warren County sheriff’s office said today that 75-year-old Harveysburg Mayor Richard Verga was charged with the misdemeanor count after investigation of allegations by a female employee.

She alleged he touched her buttocks before a council meeting last month.

Verga has denied wrongdoing.

Harveysburg is a village of some 550 people, about 30 miles southeast of Dayton.
