Arraignment set for man who left hospital

WARREN

Richard Harker, the 32-year-old Weathersfield Township man who walked away from St. Joseph Health Center on Friday, will be arraigned today in Warren Municipal Court on a new charge of misdemeanor escape.

Harker was found by Weathersfield police early Saturday and taken to Trumbull County Jail.

Harker had been taken from the jail Friday morning and taken to Niles Municipal Court for arraignment on a domestic-violence charge. Afterward, Weathersfield police took him to the hospital. It is unclear why no police officer was present at the hospital with him when he walked away, a hospital spokesman said.

Man sentenced

WARREN

Omar S. Williams, 19, of Columbus and Surfwood Circle, has been sentenced to four years in prison after pleading guilty to robbing the Subway Restaurant on Parkman Road Northwest in November.

Williams pleaded guilty Monday to aggravated robbery and breaking and entering, and Judge Peter Kontos sentenced him.

Police said he, Derrick Bennett, 20, of Third Street Southwest, and a third man went into the restaurant, with Williams demanding money.

Bennett pointed a gun at one of the workers while she opened the register, and the third man held open a backpack and told the worker to put the money into it.

Police later found Williams in a closet at a house on Bingham Avenue Northwest, where he had hidden after he broke in through a basement window. The third man was not arrested at the time.

Bennett was sentenced in February to four years in prison.

Bond set for man accused of burglary

WARREN

Bond was set at $35,000 Monday in Warren Municipal Court for Marquis R. Cambridge, 19, of Northgate Avenue in Liberty, charged with aggravated burglary.

A 20-year-old Youngstown woman said she suffered cuts on her arm and wrist after Cambridge entered a house in the 100 block of Atlantic Street Northeast at 9:20 a.m. Sunday and attacked her.

Cambridge told the woman he was coming to get his belongings, but he had no belongings there, she said.

Cambridge broke a window to get inside, then swung a knife at the woman, cutting her. He grabbed her cellphone and ran. Police arrested him a short distance away.
