Austintown Senior Center, 100 Westchester Drive, has planned the following: Monday, active exercise at 8 a.m., 30 minutes with God, blood pressure checks and beginner computer class at 9, bingo at 10, painting class at 10:15, beginner computer class at 10:30, senior spinning at 11, advanced computer class and lunch at noon and seminar on safe-link wireless phone at 12:30 p.m.; Tuesday, active exercise at 8 a.m., gardening video class at 9, bingo at 10, quilting class at 10:30, line dancing class at 11, chair yoga and lunch at noon, conversational Spanish at 12:30 p.m., AARP notables, strawberry pie cooking class and Windows computer class at 1 and My Olde Car Club Show at 5; Wednesday, active exercise at 8 a.m., 30 minutes with God at 9, bingo and senior spinning at 10, Fountain of Youth fitness and intermediate computer class at 11, Drums Alive and pizza party ($3) at noon, movie matinee at 12:30 p.m., ballroom dancing class, Windows computer class and Austintown Medical Van at 1 and Austintown Junior Women’s League meeting at 7 p.m.; Thursday, active exercise at 8 a.m., wood carving and Greece and Turkey travelogue at 9, chair yoga at 9:15, SOS at 9:30, intermediate crocheting class and Vets Helping Vets at 10, knitting class at 10:15, intermediate computer class, beginner crocheting, wine tasting video classes and duck pin bowling at noon and monthly birthday party and bingo at 5; and Friday, active exercise at 8 a.m., 30 minutes with God, Medieval Europe travelogue and trip to Linesville at 9, bingo and discussion group at 10 and senior spinning at 11. Guardian Angels of Ohio, a volunteer guardianship program of Trumbull County Probate Court, is looking for new volunteers. Angel volunteers receive training to become advocates who reach out as friends to seniors who may need a friendly phone call, a visit in a nursing home or a visit at home. Angels also are involved in planning special events for seniors such as health fairs and Make a Difference Day projects. Niles S.C.O.P.E. Senior Center, 14 E. State St., has planned the following: Wednesday, VIP birthday party for all seniors 50 and older with May birthdays at 11:30 a.m. The cost is $6 for dinner, which comprises steak, parsley potatoes, green beans, salad, rolls and dessert. Reservations are required, and bingo will follow at 1 p.m. Friday, toe-nail clipping will be provided by Dr. Tom Pokabla from 9 a.m. to noon by appointment. Insurance cards must be presented. This will be a monthly service at the center. Free cholesterol, glucose and blood pressure checks will be done from 9:30 a.m. to noon by Rashaun Speed, a registered nurse from Humility of Mary Health Partners Neighborhood Health Watch. Fasting is suggested but not required.
