BOARDMAN

The Mill Creek Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association has chosen Marilyn Abramski of Boardman as its Woman of the Year.

Abramski, a supervisor in the Mahoning County Treasurer’s Office, was honored during the chapter’s March 11 meeting at Caffe Capri in Boardman. Special guests were her husband, Bob, and grown sons, Jason and Kevin.

Her ABWA affiliation goes back decades. She initially joined the charter chapter and then became a charter member of the former Holly Chapter. Since she renewed her membership in 2012, she has volunteered time for Relay for Life Team and the annual basket auction. She also is the chapter’s secretary.

A member of St. Christine Church of Youngstown, Abramski has been a volunteer with the Silver Linings group serving Mahoning Valley residents.

She earned an associate degree in business from Youngstown State University.

Membership in the ABWA provides opportunities for businesswomen of diverse occupations to grow personally and professionally through leadership, education, networking support and national recognition.

Fundraising projects that the ABWA has hosted have provided academic scholarships to deserving students from the Mahoning Valley since the chapter began in 1962.
