Children's art will accompany concerts

YOUNGSTOWN

The Women’s Committee for Children’s Concerts, an affiliate of the Youngstown Symphony, sponsored an art contest, and the winning works will be displayed with the April 10 Young People’s Concerts at 9:30 and 11:30 a.m. in the Edward W. Powers Auditorium in the DeYor Center, 260 Federal Plaza West.

For the 74th annual concert-contest, local artists judged the entries. Artwork for the winners, in the first grade through eighth grade, with the theme Bach to the Future, will be displayed from April 7 through 14 at the DeYor Center for Performing Arts.

The art contest winners are:

Primary grades

First: Prabh Singh-Multaini, Willow Creek Learning Center, grade three

Second: Rose Marie, Willow Creek, grade one

Third: Joey Centofanti, Willow Creek, grade one

Honorable mention: David Mauerman, Willow Creek, grade two, and Mya Stackhouse, Willow Creek, grade three

Grade Four

First: Luke Martinucci, Willow Creek

Second: Noelle Beagle, Willow Creek

Third: Daniel Gordiejew, Willow Creek

Honorable mention: Dominic Parker, Wyatt Bobbey, Julia Eich and Joey Iberis, all from Dobbins Elementary

Grades five through eight

First: Makenzie Packo, Willow Creek, grade eight

Second: Kate Constantini, Willow Creek, grade five

Third: Angelina Cook, Willow Creek, grade six

Honorable mention: Connor Fritz and Aurora Fares, both at Willow Creek, grade five
