McDonald House Charities elects new officers, trustee

YOUNGSTOWN

At the annual meeting of the Board of Trustees for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Mahoning Valley & Western Pennsylvania, the following Trustees were elected to offices for the 2014-2016 term: Herb Washington, president; John Perdue, vice president; Tom Micco, treasurer; and Sheila Williams, secretary.

Susan M. Moorer, coordinator of P-16 Outreach and Assessment for the Beeghly College of Education at Youngstown State University, was elected to membership on the board of trustees for the 2014-2016 term. She is a resident of Youngstown and has been involved in community activities, such as YWCA of Youngstown board of directors, Humility of Mary Health Partners Mission and Human Potential Committee, Delta Sigma Theta sorority, Junior Civic League, American Heart Association board of directors, Youngstown Area Urban League, Associated Neighborhood Center and Youngstown State University’s Diversity Council.

The mission of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Mahoning Valley and Western Pennsylvania is to help youths by assisting with funding to health and educational programs that have a positive impact on youths up to age 21.

RMHC of Mahoning Valley and Western Pennsylvania awards grants to qualified not-for-profit organizations whose programs improve the quality of life for young people throughout Mahoning Valley, Ohio and Western Pennsylvania.

Founded in memory of McDonald’s founder, Ray Kroc, RMHC awards are granted to organizations with IRS 501(c)(3) status whose programs benefit youths in health and education.
