Seminar at YSU will focus on women’s financial wellness

“Financial Wellness for Women: Thrive Financially Instead of Just Surviving” will be presented from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 19 at Youngstown State University. It will be presented by Andrea Wasko and Meaghan Gilbert.

Wasko is a YSU alumna with more than 20 years of leadership and consulting experience. Her strengths include executive coaching, business development and financial empowerment. She has had executive positions in business development, finance, operations, marketing, manufacturing and sales for companies including Eli Lilly and Guidant Corp. In 1996, she started Connoisseur Creations Inc., a gourmet and natural-product development company. Wasko earned a master’s degree in business administration from Golden Gate University and a bachelor’s degree from YSU.

Gilbert has more than 30 years of leadership history at Cisco Systems, Apple Computer and other companies. Her strengths include new product development, program management, business development, manufacturing, finance and engineering.

Topics will include a review of your financial situation, budgeting, saving, funding your child’s education, investing, taxes, retirement, estate planning, and how to choose a financial adviser.

The seminar cost is $299.
