Scholarship WINNERS

The Ohio Oil and Gas Energy Education Program announced the 2014 Energy Scholarship Award winners June 16.

There were 45 students selected to receive the scholarships who will head to 19 different institutions to pursue careers in the oil and gas industry. Local recipients include: Nathan Haas of Alliance, Kent State University, Stark; Myles Shade of Lordstown, Marietta College; Zachary Black of Poland, Pennsylvania State University; Stephen Callow of Girard, University of Akron; Ashley Haas of Alliance, University of Mount Union; Jeffrey Schallick of Columbiana, University of Pittsburgh; Connor O’Brien of Alliance, Virginia Tech; and Haileh Ahmed of Canfield, Youngstown State University.

BANKING

First National Bank of Pennsylvania, the largest subsidiary of F.N.B. Corp., announced the recent hire of Barry Katz as senior loan officer. Katz generates and services residential mortgage loans for owner-occupied and investor properties.

The bank also announced the recent hire of Danielle L. Stanley as senior loan officer. Stanley originates residential mortgage loans for owner-occupied and investor properties.

REAL ESTATE

Debbi Scotchie Vizi has joined Real Living Volpini Realty Group as a new agent. Vizi comes with 40 years of real- estate experience in Northeast Ohio. She earned her license in 1971 from Hondros.

She began at Manchi Realty in Austintown and has since worked in Mahoning, Columbiana, Trumbull and Portage counties.

Dr. Rafael Espejo, a local cardiothoracic anesthesiologist, is a part of a select group of professionals to receive the board certification in advanced perioperative transesophageal echocardiography.

RECOGNITION

The Cleveland Recruiting Battalion and New Castle Recruiting Company will recognize Flynn’s Tire Group in a ceremonial Partnership for Youth Services signing Tuesday at the Flynn’s Corporate Headquarters in West Middlesex, Pa.

The ceremony will honor Flynn’s commitment to reconnecting veterans with their communities as the U.S. Army’s Newest PaYS Partner.

The PaYS Program is a strategic partnership between the U.S. Army and a cross-section of corporations, companies and public agencies.
