The Basement Outreach Ministries opens new Warren location

The Basement Outreach Ministries is opening a new location at 155 Tod Ave. NW in the basement of Tod Avenue Methodist Church with a free hot meal and spiritual support at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

The nonprofit organization will continue with hot meals every Tuesday at 7 p.m., as well as Monday snack and Bible study at 6:30 p.m. July 7 and continuing Mondays at 6:30 p.m. thereafter.

The Basement will continue to offer food distributions at its location in the basement of a church at 857 North Park Ave., at the corner of Atlantic Street and North Park Avenue from 7 to 9 p.m. the fourth Friday of the month, with the next one being July 25.

The organization is not affiliated with either of the churches where the programs are being offered.

The organization also provides clothing, hygiene needs and crisis assistance, along with its Christ-centered message, said Pastor Julia Wike.

Its spiritual-response team travels around the community delivering assistance to disadvantaged people, including the homeless and those with substance-abuse issues, Pastor Wike said.
