Vice Squad members serving search warrants investigating drug activity found two semiautomatic handguns in one home and more than $1,250 in cash in another.

At a 1128 Ivanhoe Ave. home about 6:28 p.m. Wednesday, police found the cash, along with a bag of marijuana, a digital scale, a bag of crack cocaine and a security system that had four cameras and a 32-inch television monitor.

Arrested on a warrant for failure to appear in municipal court was 27-year-old Brandon Ravnell of Youngstown. Arrested on charges of possession of drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana was 28-year-old Carl Hammonds, also of Youngstown. Reports said he faces those charges because he was near those items in the home when they were found.

The guns, a 9 mm and a .45-caliber semiautomatic, were found at a 2004 Pointview Ave. home that officers searched about 5:10 p.m. Wednesday. Also found was a magazine with 30 rounds of ammunition, two scales, a bag of marijuana and $325 in cash.

Arrested there on charges of possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia was 23-year-old Calvin Martin of Youngstown.
