New head of Youngstown school commission to be announced today


YOUNGSTOWN — The new leader of the Youngstown School District Academic Distress Commission is to be announced at a commission meeting this afternoon.

Adrienne O’Neill, commission chairwoman since 2012, is stepping down and this afternoon’s meeting is her last. Her replacement, selected by Richard Ross, state superintendent of public instruction, will be announced at today’s meeting at 2 p.m. at the Irene Ward building, West Wood Street.
