BIRD BANDING WITH AL

When: Saturday, 8 a.m.-noon.

What: See wild songbirds and learn why bird banding is an important tool for bird and wildlife conservation.

Where:Huston-Brumbaugh Nature Center Visitors Center, 16146 Daniel St. NE, Minerva.

Details: Meet outside on east side of the Visitors Center. Banding sessions canceled in event of rain or shortened due to hot weather.

Wonderland Creatures

When: Saturday, 10–11 a.m.

What: Children 3–5 and a caregiver will explore how Alice adventured with the Dormouse, Gryphon, Mock Turtle and other creatures through hands-on activities, a snack and craft.

When: Saturday, 12:30–2 p.m.

What: Kids 6–11 will discover bugs that live in Wonderland from Snap Dragonfly to infamous Caterpillar and enjoy fun activities.

When: Saturday, 3–4:30 p.m.

What: Teens 12–17 will learn how to make their own glycerin soaps using flowers from the gardens and essential oils.

WORLD OF THE HONEY BEE

When: Sunday, 2-4 p.m.

What: Beekeepers Rick and Diane Blessing will share facts about honey bees.

Beautiful: Inside & Out Summer Camp

When: Monday–Wednesday, 9 a.m.–4 p.m.

What: Girls 10–14 will discover their own inner beauty and grow through Zumba, journaling, self-defense, yoga, meditation, making lip balm, facial scrubs and friendship bracelets.

Where: Ford Nature Center, Fellows Riverside Gardens.

Cost: $120 residents; $135 nonresidents.
