A concerned caller alerted city police Tuesday evening to a 2-year-old at his Sixth Street residence, whose guardians could not be reached.
The caller said the child lives a few houses away from him, but that no one answered the door there when he knocked. Police were able to contact the child's parents, who said they had a 16-year-old watching the child, but that this babysitter had gone missing.
Police told parents to be more careful and that they would be charged if a similar incident occurred again.
