Pistol training

WEST MIDDLESEX, PA.

The Mercer County Critical Incident Response Team will be teaching a basic pistol-training and concealed-carry course Saturday and Sunday at Hidden Valley Sportsmen’s Club. The deadline for registration is Wednesday.

The course will follow NRA Basic Pistol Training guidelines. A certificate will be given to individuals who complete the course. The Trumbull, Mahoning, Columbiana, Ashtabula and Portage county sheriff’s offices will accept the certification with CCW applications for Ohio residents living in those counties since the course meets the Ohio concealed-carry requirements.

All proceeds benefit the Mercer County CIRT.

Training will cover pistol and ammunition knowledge, safe gun handling, shooting fundamentals, marksmanship and live fire drills.

Call Sheriff Gary Hartman at 724-662-6135.
