WARREN

Alan Stanley, 49, a former McDonald High School teacher and baseball coach, was sentenced to five years’ probation Monday for having an inappropriate relationship with a female student during the 2011-12 school year.

Stanley, of Merwin-Chase Road in Brookfield, apologized to his family and friends before Judge Peter Kontos of Trumbull County Common Pleas Court sentenced him.

A court official read a statement from the victim in which she said she was among many students who thought highly of Stanley, who “comforted me and made me feel good about myself with small compliments and comments.

“I let flattery and my emotions get the best of me and ended up making dumb decisions I still regret to this day,” she said.

Prosecutors said Stanley and the girl, who was 16 or 17, texted comments containing sexual innuendos back and forth, and the girl eventually sent him nude images of herself.

Stanley pleaded guilty in April to illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material or performance.

During his probation, he is ordered not to use any social media; his computer use will be monitored by probation officials, he’s not allowed to work as a teacher or coach, and the probation department will have to approve employment.

As a sex offender, he will have to register annually with the sheriff’s office in the county where he lives for the next 15 years.

Stanley worked at McDonald schools for four years, teaching chemistry.

Indicted Monday in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court was Gregory A. Frampton, 36, of Warren-Sharon Road in Masury, charged with 12 counts of tampering with records, 12 counts of forgery and one count of possessing criminal tools.

The charges stem from an investigation that began April 12, when Frampton was arrested on driving under suspension, driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and having a fictitious auto registration.

During the stop, police found a notary stamp that was for a woman who had been deceased for quite a few years, said Brookfield Township Police Chief Dan Faustino.

Further investigation uncovered about a dozen instances in which Frampton is believed to have used the stamp to notarize the titles of cars sold at Reiter’s Auto Sales and Towing on Warren-Sharon Road in Brookfield, where Frampton worked.

The automobile Frampton was driving was supposed to be at the Reiter impound lot, having been towed there for the Sharon Police Department, Faustino said.

Also indicted was William Countryman III, on two counts of aggravated robbery, two counts of kidnapping, one count of heroin possession, and one count of attempted aggravated robbery.

Countryman, 36, of Main Avenue in Warren, Viola Avenue in Hubbard and Salt Springs Road in Mineral Ridge, was charged with kidnapping a 74-year-old woman from the parking lot of ValleyCare Trumbull Memorial Hospital on May 8. The woman said she was kidnapped at knifepoint and robbed of about $50 and a cellphone.

Ian Weddell, 32, of Tami Court in Cortland, was indicted on 11 counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor and four counts of pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor. If convicted, he could be sentenced to about 100 years in prison.
