A Boardman man was indicted by a Mahoning County grand jury Thursday in the death of a man on the North Side on Dec. 30.
Charles Stanley Jr., 28, faces a count of aggravated murder in the death of 20-year-old Aldric Jones. Police said Jones was found by police about 9:30 p.m. Dec. 29 lying in a pool of blood in the drive of a Fairmount Avenue home.
He died the next day in St. Elizabeth Health Center of a gunshot wound to the head.
Stanley also faces a charge of aggravated burglary, accusing him of breaking into his ex-girlfriend’s home on Silliman Street on Dec. 24. At the time, police said, Jones was in that home with the woman.
Reports said Stanley had confronted Jones about the woman before.
Stanley was a suspect in the case but was not charged by police until he was arrested May 15 in a burglary at a Dean Street home that is unrelated to the other two charges. He was charged with the murder after he was interviewed by detectives.
