CBOSS reaches deal with Health Alliance

CBOSS Inc., a global technology and software developer based in Boardman, announced an agreement Thursday with Capstone Health Alliance Inc.

Capstone is a purchasing organization based in North Carolina with hospitals, continuum of care facilities, public health departments and pharmacies in North and South Carolina, Virginia, Kentucky, Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee and Pennsylvania as part of its membership.

CBOSS will bring its central-payment portal platform to Capstone members to automate the payment process, which shortens the revenue cycle and generates revenue faster.

Job fair for racino set

YNDC receives award

The Ohio Housing Finance Agency on Wednesday presented the Youngstown Neighborhood Development Corp. with the Spirit of Homeownership Excellence Award for the organization’s Community Loan Fund program.

The award, created to honor innovation and quality in the affordable housing industry during National Homeownership Month, is presented to one organization each year, recognizing its contributions in promoting homeownership opportunities and accessibility.

Fewer seek jobless aid

WASHINGTON

Fewer Americans sought unemployment benefits last week, as the number of people collecting jobless aid fell to its lowest level in more than six years.

The Labor Department said Thursday that weekly applications for unemployment benefits fell 6,000 to a seasonally adjusted 312,000. The four-week average, a less volatile measure, declined to 311,750.

There are 2.56 million people receiving benefits, the lowest total since October 2007.

Economic indicators increase for 4th month

WASHINGTON

A gauge designed to predict the economy’s future health increased for a fourth month in May, providing further evidence that the economy is gaining strength after a harsh winter caused activity to go into reverse.

The Conference Board said Thursday that its index of leading indicators increased 0.5 percent last month, an improvement from a revised 0.3 percent gain in April.
