Skip Barone, manager at St. Vincent de Paul Society dining hall, 208 W. Front St., said the dining hall is temporarily closed because of damage caused by flooding in the basement. The hall is expected to reopen Monday.

Barone said the “perfect storm” of a water-main break in front of the building, which since has been repaired by the city, and rain this week caused the problem. The hall had no hot water because the tank was damaged and will have to be replaced. The restrooms also were not in service.

Barone said a plumbing company will make repairs, and a cleaning service is working on cleanup.

The man who was in the store June 12 stole one pair of metal frames when one employee was occupied with multiple customers. The male on Monday was in the store for 50 minutes and looked at frames in the front of the store, concealing several of them in his shirt and pockets.
