Warren fire chief suspects arson in Wednesday blaze

WARREN — City fire officials say a 2:20 a.m. Wednesday fire at 711 Hillsdale Drive NW that burned the vacant structure “to the foundation” appears to be arson.

Fire Chief Ken Nussle said crews fought the fire for 21⁄2 hours, but it was fully engulfed when firefighters arrived with no chance of saving the building. The chief said firefighters focused on preventing any damage to neighboring structures.

The fire was considered an $18,000 loss.
