St. Vincent de Paul dining hall downtown closed until Monday

YOUNGSTOWN — Skip Barone, manager at St. Vincent de Paul Society dining hall, 208 W. Front St., said the dining hall is temporarily closed because of damage caused by flooding in the basement. The hall is expected to reopen Monday.

Barone said the “perfect storm” of a water main break in front of the building, which has since been repaired by the city, and rain this week caused the problem. The hall had no hot water because the tank was damaged and will have to be replaced. The restrooms also were not in service.

Barone said a plumbing company will make repairs and a cleaning service is working on cleanup.
