Police find man accused of shooting pair in SW Ohio

HAMILTON, Ohio (AP) — Police in southwest Ohio say they have taken into custody a man suspected of fatally shooting his daughter and an unidentified male.

Hamilton police say they found 55-year-old Alfred Rutherford in a park after they received a tip. Police declined to release other details, pending charges.

They sought Rutherford after officers responding to a report of gunfire at 2:24 a.m. today found 29-year-old Lacey Rutherford and the man dead of gunshot wounds on the floor of the home. Police say both she and Rutherford, her father, lived at the address. They were trying to confirm the identity of the slain man.

Police said Rutherford had fled the home. They took him into custody without incident just before 11 a.m.
