The city has awarded a contract for this year’s street paving to Butch & McCree Paving Inc. of Edinburg, Pa.

The bid was the lowest of five at $207,565. Other bidders were Chagrin Valley Paving Inc. of Chagrin Falls at $272,433; Barbicas Construction Co. Inc. of Akron at $248,888; RT Vernal Paving of North Lima at $232,234; and Shelly & Sands of Marietta at $226,982.

Paving likely will start in July.

Fifteen streets are a priority. They are: Simler Street, Dorchester Drive, Meadowland Drive, Melody Lane, Scott Street, Hall Avenue, Helen Drive, Belle Vista Drive, Oak Knoll Drive, Raymond Drive, Moore Street, Gary Drive, Saul Drive, West Water Street and School Street.
