Special honors awarded at YWCA annual meeting

Deborah S. Liptak of Boardman, development director for the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County, recently was elected president of the Youngstown YWCA board of directors.

Recipients of special honors at the organization’s 109th annual meeting were: Carla Baldwin Fields, YWCA board member of the year; Barbara Ade, YWCA volunteer of the year; and Jo Ann Buzulencia, YWCA employee of the year.

Other officers elected were Rhonda Warren, first vice president; Cryshanna A. Jackson, second vice president; Jenna Santisi, treasurer; and Kristen Olmi, secretary.

Elected to three-year terms on the board beginning in this month were Andrea N. Burton, Kimorine Campbell, Christine A. Gerst, Stacey R. Schneider, Susan P. Stewart, and Breanne E. Szmara. Re-elected to the board are Amanda Sacco and Santisi.

Other board members are Adrian Anderson, Fran Curd, Fields, Elizabeth Hartwig, Jenita Howell, Sarah J. Lowry, and Keisha T. Robinson.

Curd, Fields, Suzanne Anzellotti-Ray, Rita Cintavey, June Ewing, Susan M. Moorer and Mary Jo Truman were elected to the 2014-2015 YWCA nominating committee.

The Youngstown YWCA, 25 W. Rayen Ave., is part of a women’s membership movement the mission of which is to eliminate racism and empower women by providing housing and supportive services, youth development, and empowerment programs for women and families in the community.
