Youngstown firefighters fight three vacant structure fires

YOUNGSTOWN

Firefighters battled blazes at three vacant structures over the weekend.

About 2:30 a.m. Saturday, firefighters were called to a vacant building at 153 E. Delason Ave. on the South Side, where they found the building fully engulfed in fire. Damage is listed at $610.

A 48 E. Avondale Ave. home, also on the South Side, caught fire about 3:25 a.m. Sunday. Firefighters there had to hack their way inside because the home was secured. Damage there is listed at $5,000.

About 11:40 p.m. Sunday, crews were called to a vacant 2034 Elm St. building on the North Side that was called in by a police officer on patrol. Flames there could be seen on the first and second floor, reports said. Damage there is listed at $2,500.

There were no injuries.
