WARREN
The Raymond John Wean Foundation of Warren recently gave a combined $175,000 in grants to three community groups. The organizations are:
Eastern Ohio Education Partnership: $125,000 over two years to support organizing activities around education. The partnership is located at Kent State University at Trumbull.
Power of the Arts: $40,000 for public-awareness campaigns and community education and outreach to enable the organization to continue its work in communicating the role arts and culture can play in the Mahoning Valley’s revitalization. It is located at 258 W. Federal St., downtown Youngstown.
Tabernacle Baptist Church of Youngstown: $10,000 to support the Children’s Defense Fund Summer Freedom Schools Program, which stresses civic engagement through projects designed for students, parents and community partners to work together to make a difference in their communities.
