Rogers camp offers variety of programs

Camp Frederick, 6996 Millrock Road, will offer its summer season from now through Aug. 1 in weeklong sessions for residential and day camps for those age 6 to 17.

Frederick also offers a camp designed specifically for children who have lost a loved one.

Planned camps include:

The Journeyers, for ages 12 to 14, offered the weeks of June 15, 22, 29, July 6, 13 and 20. Adventures at camp include the Challenge Course, canoeing and camping.

The Ultimate Challenge will be for youths age 12 to 14 and 15 to 17. Camps for those age 12 to 14 will be offered the weeks of June 22, July 6 and 20; for those 15 to 17, the weeks of June 15, 29 and July 13. Kids in this camp will travel to Ohiopyle State Park for white- water rafting, with a night of camping and cooking over a fire to follow. The next morning, the groups will explore Laurel Caverns.

The Frederick Day Camp for children age 6 to 11 will be offered the weeks of June 30 and July 7. This day camp offers a way to ease into the camp experience without the fear of overnight separation; creek stomps, hike trails, camp games and songs will be offered from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day.

A Sleep Over Camp for kids age 6 to 8 will be June 22 through 24 and June 29 through July 1, offering kids a way to ease into overnight programs. Two nights at camp will follow a similar schedule to New Adventurers.

The New Adventurers camp for children age 6 to 8 will be offered the weeks of June 15, 22, 29, July 6, 3 and 20. Camp activities such as crafts, nature exploration, tree forts, games, swimming, Bible study, cooking outdoors will be featured.

Discoverers camp for kids age9 to 11 will be during the weeks of June 15, 22, 29, July 6, 13 and 20. Camp activities, including new attractions such as the low-ropes course, climbing wall and archery will be featured.
