Man faces drug, alcohol charges in court Tuesday

CAMPBELL — A 30-year-old Struthers man found with 4.3 grams of suspected marijuana, 0.6 grams of suspected cocaine and two open containers of alcohol during a Saturday night traffic stop is set to appear in Campbell Municipal Court at 9 a.m. Tuesday.

At about 10:15 p.m., city police stopped Autumn J. Axel of Perry Street for failing to signal his turn onto McCartney Road. Police immediately noticed the open containers of alcohol in the backseat, then discovered the drugs during a search of the car.

Axel was charged with possession of cocaine, a fifth-degree felony; possession of marijuana; and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was also cited for having open containers and for not signaling his turn.

Axel is being held without bond at the city jail until his court appearance.
