2221The last service at the church was Nov. 3, 2013.
After asking permission from demolition workers, Raub selected two bricks from the church — one for himself and one for his sister — to keep for posterity.
Community Corrections Association on Market purchased the building for $60,000. The sanctuary is being demolished, but a parish house to the rear of the church will be used by CCA as a 32-bed facility for CCA’s female clients.
Raub was a longtime member and lived just a few blocks from the church when he was a child.
