GROVE CITY, Pa.

A borough man is in the Mercer County jail on $100,000 bond after police say he was caught on video trying to grab a boy in the Walmart on West Main Street.

The Vindicator’s broadcast partner, 21 WFMJ-TV, said Shawn Michael Miller, 27, was arrested about 8 a.m. Friday on charges of unlawful restraint and simple assault and was arraigned before a district justice.

The boy’s father said he had just left a restroom with the boy’s brother and the victim was still inside washing his hands when Miller grabbed him around the waist and put him into a stall in the bathroom.

The victim screamed for his father and Miller let him go, reports said. The victim found his father, and Miller ran into a wooded area behind the store, reports said.

Miller has a preliminary hearing scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday.
