Youngstown woman arrested on drug-theft charge

BOARDMAN — Township police arrested a suspect Tuesday morning in a case involving theft of dangerous drugs.

Michelle Dutton, 34, of Youngstown, is charged with theft of dangerous drugs, a felony, after it was discovered that she stole medication from Greenbriar Healthcare Center, 8064 South Ave.

According to a police report, Dutton provided a videotaped statement in which she admitted to taking and consuming prescription pain medication that she was to administer to residents at the center.

The theft was reported July 13 by another employee.

The original police report said Dutton had signed paperwork saying she had given patients their medication, but that several patients reported not receiving their medication when she was working.
